Currently in FL visiting my mother - today we were caught in a typical FL thunderstorm (6 inches of rain in 30 minutes which overwhelmed the storm drain system causing massive street flooding). It was raining so hard I had to pull over for a half an hour. Of course we had to go to the local thrift store (didn't I just clean out 3 closets?). I got into a bit of a "I saw it first/too bad you left it on the rack and I'm going to buy it ha ha ha" type power struggle with another customer which kept me amused for about 15 minutes as the woman I "stole" the shirt from followed me around the shop making rude comments. Obviously she was a thrift shop neophyte. Then to the grocery store, then to another grocery store. Tonight Mum had a sleep study scheduled. My SIL and nephew followed me out to where the appointment was supposed to be, I drove my mother in her car fully intending to drop her off and then go back to the sis in laws.
So we go into the clinic and they don't have the appointment on their books. Why don't they have it on their books? Because the appointment wasn't at that clinic was it? You know, the clinic that is 30 friggin miles from her house? It was at the other clinic - you know, the one 5 miles from my mother's house. My sister in law has the patience of Job. I owe her big time, along with my nephew who gave up quality couch potato time to play chauffeur. I'm going to be shipping biscuits to the US for a long, long time.
Nope, don't really have the patience of Job, but rather, far more experience dealing with elderly parentals!
Job & I do not have patience in common, but we do share the whole being smited with boils and having all manner of crap being inflicted upon us...but thanks for the compliment!
