Prior to moving into the new chez hamwich I began scouring the newstands and interweb for articles about home renovations. Mr H & I have already had a taste of renovating together given the remodeling we did on the rental home we were living in. What I was looking for was ideas on how to make a pokey little cottage seem spacious. Well, every article I read about remodeling is either about someone who sold a multimillion dollar property so they could buy a million dollar property and spend millions remodeling or filled with phrases like "the architect put skylights over the bath and shower, creating luminous spaces". Listen pal, if I could afford a friggin architect do you think I would have bought a cottage in the western suburbs? Tell me how I can create more space and then show me some real friggin examples, not some photos of a 5000 sq foot home.
